Welcome Richard.
Congrats on the new-to-you GTP.
I saw your post in the clubgp suspension forum yesterday. Did you figure out what the rattle was? _________________ 2018 Acadia

Wow and I was just about to post a noobie post too haha. Thanks for the welcome. Johnny airbox directed me over here. Hes on another local forum where I posted so he told me to come over here and check it out.
Aaaaanyways, my name is, as stated above, Rich. I just picked up my 97 GTP last Tuesday for $3600 from a private owner. From what I can tell its all stock, but I think it has a 160* t-stat because the temp gauge wont budge one bit past 160. I got an LS1m on the way so hopefully by this weekend I'll be able to figure out whats going on. Dont plan on letting the mod bug bite me much. Just gonna do the basics and keep it a civil, mileage friendly daily driver. Bought a cheap-o intake off of ebay cause Im too lazy to make one myself and will build an airbox around it come spring. Probably just gonna do an exhaust and a 3.4 and all the supporting mods for it of course and hope for the best.
And about that rattle, Im 99% sure its a wheel bearing. I'm also hearing a humming noise coming from the same spot, indicative of a worn out bearing. Anyone here wanna donate a garage and tools to help me replace it?? Theres a 12 pack of your favorite brew and some pizza in store. I dont have my own garage to do it in |

WOOHOOOO another 97!!
Let's hear it for "check tire pressure" lights, antennas, under-hood lights, and prop rods!
LOL
Welcome, Richard.
Now, just pray for spring! |

Welcome, congrates on the new family car. We should be having a MOD day soon, well take care of that wheel bearing then if need be. Enjoy your stay and hope to see you around. _________________ '08 TrailBlazer SS Black/Black |
