Hey there guys, and first off thanks Jay for the fan setting.

I am looking into a tuner for our gp's and monte. but confused about what changes what.. Anyone avail sometime to go through it with me one day? Also as some might know i am going to go blown with my daily driven 96gp (l36swap) with a ported m90 and heads. Does anyone know what I have to do as far as tuning? I think i am going to run a xpz cam on my heads and a n* tb. but i am keeping my stock l36 compression. Going in and rebearing the block(cam and mains/rods) and changing all gaskets...lol.... Possibly deleting the bal shaft also since i dont need it.. But my biggest issue is where to tune it at?????? anyone have anyluck with a l36 swapped to a m90 setup? thanks Greg

Also jay and i were talking, My tranny goes into 4th(might be od)at around 45-46, is there a way to bump it up to 50-54mph? and what should be changed... ??? Its annoying when it bounces in and out when i drive to work and pass through areas that are 40mph zones... i know i can just run in 3rd but i forget to shift it back to "d" when on the highway sometimes...lol....

Greg, for tuning and what changes to make its kinda depends on the car itself. What works for one doesn't always work for another. To get your self ready to tune there is a manual/tune guide that you are able to down load off the power tuner forum. It gives you tons of info on what does what and where to start tunning. There are TONS of stuff that you can change for fuel (VE, RPM, TIME, Injecter Tables, Maf, etc.) Each thing also has sub menus for more changes, timming also has good fuel tables, bad fuel tables, mean spark tables, also depends on intake air temps. Fuel can also be based with time, RPM, temps, 02 readings. Next time I see you I'll show you all the things you can change.

thats fine Jay, no big hurry... Whats wrong with the garlock ones? I dont care what ones i use, I was gonna just get felpro for everything as i have had good luck with them (24psi on the monte and headgaskets are fine so far) so they have my vote... but thought garlokcs were decent????

How does everyone like the xpz cam? Its it honestly streetable? i also would still like to get close to 20+mpg lol... since i avg about 140miles a day driving...

Lynoise (around albany) has been running an XPZ in his DD for a while...as far as I know there aren't any issues. (aside from having to retorque his rear head every month...damn those cometics!)..just keep in mind a motor built around that cam (double roller, 130# springs, no balance shaft, machined heads) may not be 100% reliable at 140 miles a day.

Not that I have to tell you that, but it's something to think about.

Don't forget Dave P snapped a double roller with 'only' an XP...

cripes...how many people are gonna be running that cam?

Me, JohnC, LoudGP, Lynoise, maybe Jay, ???

Its DEF. streetable. IT barely had a lope at 800rpms. Its nouthing like the Immense Stg.3 cam YUK!

Its the coolest cam EVA! I was chattin with Zooomer about a better one coming out in '07...he said their ~might~ be something in the works but the XPZ is hard to beat. Im very happy with it. It got Johhny into the mid 11s, other people into the 11s and low 12's.
But, with that lift and the toll it takes on the springs and chain, its gonna be a bit more maintainence.
I liked the Garlock S/C gaskets myself but, as posted above even though they're ~supposed~ to be re-useable, one of them ripped when took my S/C off EVEN with the thin layer of oil on it. Im gonna try and just use "Great Stuff" this time....see if I get a vac. leak.
