Lately my 99 GP's gas gauge is off, it reads higher then it should. At 10-11 gal fill ups it reads half tank or higher. Any ideas as to the fix for this?

98+ are alot more accurate than a 97 since it goes from the tank (sending unit) to the PCM, to the gauge, back to the PCM. So, its either the sender is gummed up or the contacts are just badly worn, or your gauge is showing its age. Both are replaceable. I've done both...not to bad.

Hoping it starts working beter, I ran it out to 14 gal fill up today and it seemed like its getting closer to being right, showed a quarter tank. How much does a GT take when guage shows empty? I'm used to the GTP's, their tank is a bit bigger.

Sweet I have a smaller tank...even more weight reduction. (even though I think I'm doing a fuel cell now)

I ~think~ I've got 14.5 gal. into my car....Im not 100% though.

I also dont think Ed will separate a sender from the canister...actually I don't think anyone will. It'd be nice though.
