a little bit of snow and you could ski down that torque curve.

Cause it starts so high! Very Happy
That my old VS cam setup - since the dyno I did XP, Gen V, etc.

I guess this type of dyno is good for making small changes and getting accurate results when looking for differences between multiple runs. But the numbers are different than those from other types of dynos.

I am going to have my car tuned at New Era Performance, but before anything happens, I have a few questions. Right now, with the mods in my sig, the car runs pretty good actually. I will be adding the Billet TB, and 99+ MAF to my mods, so obviously I will need a 99+ GTP tune. I was wondering when I go out there to have them tune my car, if I should have them use the 99+ VE to tune as well?

Also, I am going to have my car inspected coming up in the next few weeks, I will have to delete some codes for this, but also, I was wondering if anyone knows anyone somewhat locally around here that could get my car inspected? I was told there is someone on here that lives in Orchard Park that can get the car inspected? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you get codes shut off then you can go anywhere to get inspected. If the NYS computer is happy then you are good to go.

It still has to pass a visual inspection. But i know 90% of people at valvoline don't know what a catalytic converter is

You mean the big brass plug in place of my rear O2 isn't supposed to pass visual?

No, this is something people without 3800-specific knowledge wouldn't be able to directly say, either. The 99+ VE table is incremented differently than the 98 table, so you'd need to run a 99-00 pcm file to properly swap to that without hassle.

As for the MAF swap, you can run a 98 "tune", it makes no difference where the table starts... it's where it ends up once dialed into your specific sensors/mods. With the bigger TB, it won't be correct using any stock table, so be prepared to require a few scans/tunes to get it 100%.

I'd save the trip to NEP for once you've got it in the ballpark, otherwise you'll be spending alot more time/money there than necessary to take care of the simple things 1st.

I have been contemplating that, since the car does not run THAT bad right now, to just try tuning it myself. Do you think doing a VE tune would be worth it, or just tune with the MAF?

Not worth it, honestly. The 3800's are not as dependant on the VE table for stability as the V8's are. I've tuned multiple 11sec cars in the past while using stock VE, just adjusting MAF and PE.
