I figure this is good info for the club to know. Cardone/A1 make stroger reman halfshafts that are the same as the SFPH way over priced ones.
They are reman'd with machined bearring cups for larger stronger beerings. And come with the thicker softer boots.

Check out the Cardone site for more info (autozone has info in theere site too). You can get them at autozone, with a life time warrenty. And also Meisenzhl's. I got a set at Meisenzhl's for $61 a side with a $100 core witch I got back. Larry bought I set when he got his upstate 3.69 trans Very Happy

He got them from autozone. The think they was $70 a side with a $100 core. He got all the core back, with a shaft in pieces too. LOL There are pics on his site of his set.

Doug has a set too I belive he got them from a place in genseo. But either way a set brand new is only $150- $200 and they have a lifetime warrenty. That you can just get them exchanged locally

Also if you lower your car and get a vibration. it could be for the worn CV joints.

edit- spelling/gramer, And I only have a Cardone on the pass (diff) side. Driver side is stock still going strong.

After breaking stock axles, I believe John, Doug and I are all using Cardone reman axles. They were recommended to me by a mechanic. So far so good. I ordered mine from Autozone. There might be two different part numbers for each side, but you'll get the same part.

...or go to Autozone...

Also me and larry looked into this and theirs a little info on ClubGP too. For some resone, their are 2 differnt PN's for I think it's the passanger side halfshaft? If you look a set up at some places the diffnent number changes at I think 00? Their listed as 97-00 (99) and (00) 01-02? We had some troble ordering 2-4 sets to look at them. I had like 6 BN halfshafts over here and I mixed them up so I forgot the PN's Confused But 2 of the 3 passenger I had were a little bit differnt lenghts.
Texas Chris Green posted somthing about the 00+ came stock with a 1/2inch longer passenger axel? But we never found this. And it's hard to meause them. You have to compress the joints. I'm not sure about this but I think pontiac might have found slightly longer, it improved ride or wear? I don't think the cars were changed, So if your getting a set for a 97-00. I'd look them up for a 01 car, just so you have the updated change if there is a differnce?
