UNYCGP was WELL represented at IDDVI!! We had 4 cars, 1 in each class, and all 4 placed in the prizes!
John G took 1st in N/A! (Wes Blair declined his prize)
I took 5th in stock power adder
Larry took 4th in street power adder!
Doug took 5th in contender power adder!
Car show/dyno day on Saturday, they had 22 cars show. I took 3rd in interior and 4th in wheels/tires The "judging" was crowd favorite style though with everyone in attendance getting a sheet to vote in the classes. So IMO (and Scott's) some people won that shouldn't have, but they had allot of CLUB MEMBERS there to support them *hint* *hint*
All in all the show was a good time and thanks a ton to Scott for all of his help! my car never looked so good, that's for sure.
Sunday we were in early and got great pits (thanks again Scott) the weather was warm and sunny, so my car at least got slower in the afternoon. Ran a PB of 13.580 @ 101.13 - 2.058 60ft
I posted all my pics from IDD here-

just look for any with IDDVI titles. Only 1 vid came out (sorry Larry/Doug) as I had operator error
all in all a freakin great time as always! you guys missed a great event. _________________ 2000 GTP 13.5 daily driver

I made it home in five hours flat. I pulled off at an exit once to check something out, then pulled off in Erie for a few. The UNYCGP Support and Detailing Envoy came in handy hauling everything we needed for the event. It also allowed me to fly down to the premier paved pit spots for our crew. I didn't take it down the track or stick it on the dyno though.

that was one of the best IDD's I have been to. Much of the crowd was female this year, and I think that made the night rowdys a bit milder and also made for great distraction from cars if needed.
We got to meet Sal, from NYC, very nice guy. And they kept mentioning on the PA system about this gal from NY. Turned out she beat Tracy Bright for the fastest lady, and she is from NY! Around Binghamton area, her and her Husband both had GTP's, she had a GTX that ran 12.33. NICE They race mostley at Skyview, but have run at ESTA.
I agree with Cary that are USNYCGP detali and support crew was great!! Must have been like 4 of them, but they all looked like Scott P. Scary, sorta like clones of him with bottles of Quick Detailer and Sam Adams.

Sounds like it was a great time! I wish I could have been there but the wife had plans. So what were everyone's times? Any new personal bests?
Cary, I hear your pain as far as the car show goes. Every year at shows the same thing will happen to me. Evey show I went to last year had participant judging and who ever knew the most people 'won' the awards.
Those pics looked great by the way! |

the thing is, is that scott cook didnt follow Wes's directions by not giving him a prize. so that left me in second and wes first. wes went up to scott and told him what the deal was. at the end wes came up to me and told me that he already told scott that he didnt want a prize. wes was very upset with the hole thing. so he said he would get back to me about it bc cook never made the announcement about changing the prizes. but i really dont think ill use the rockers if i get them, if i dont i will def let u know scott m . if thats what u mean.
thanks

I got 4 PB, 2 et's and 2 60 footers. I ran 12.107@112.94 on a 1.691 60 foot. The other run was a 12.185 on a 1.755 60 foot. That was my second run and I lost the CV boot on the passenger side axle, the luanch felt funny and I could hear/feel the axle when I slowed down. Spent some time getting it back in the groove and cleaning up CV grease. I didn't run any more , my next goal was to drive the car home, which I did. This is the second Cardon axle I have had slip a boot and spray grease at the tarck. But it was OK for the ride back.
And my DIC quit on me, and at the same time my keyless entry decided not to work. Battery in fob is good, other fob won't work either , but all the locks will work with buttons in car. WTF. I am kinda tired of working on it right now, so I will wait a day or two before I start fixing it. |

AWESOME times Doug!! Congrats on the new PB.
Sucks about the car....my keyless entry did the same thing to me at SLP day, unfortuantly found out the control unit had fried itself and hasn't worked since. |

Thanks Scott. And where is the controler unit for keyless mounted in the car? It sucks to have use a key. I can't have that crude of a system on my racer,it would be like not having heads up, power everthing, Bose or heated leather, a drag car needs those things, right? |

Doug is right. There were more women this year. Most of them were quite attractive too. I had some nice eye candy to check out for a few days. |
