Hi Guys
I did some more scanning and tuning and am getting closer (I think)
Here is the scan and the HPL to look at. I am concerned that my O2's are showing 960 - 970, but the afr is nuts on at 12.0 - 12.1 Any ideas?
I did add some more fuel up on top to get rid og that KR and will scan again in a while, I just don't want the O2's to be too high, although from what I understand they are shit anyway...

Those are some whacky numbers.
Where did your timing go?
You used to have 17 to 20.
Your LTFT are odd as well. -13?? _________________ Good Bye.

Yeah...with no Alky pumping, I am seeing a lot less timing, because of the KR. |

Like I said, I am NOT pumping anymore, and need some help with interpreting the results.
Can you take a look at the scans and offer any advice? |

That 'AFR" is shit. still using the stock 02, so............
And I think with having that many issure with the fueling, and this 02 did have alky pissing on it. You should get a new GM one and see if the number become more consitense. |

So do I believe the AFR numbers, or do I believe the O2's? I can order a new O2 this weekend, just hate to spend 70 if I don't have to. This O2 is only a couple of months old. It seems as though when I adjust the tune, it is getting a lot better, and the AFR is consistant but then my O2's are "looking" too rich. Whren I went to the dyno, my O2's were lean without the alky pumping bu tthe AFR was showing rich. What gives?
I do not have the SES light anymore now that I have the AFR @ 12 - 12.1 but my O2 numbers seem kind of high. Being narrowband should I believe the MAF or the O2 number in the scans? |

Gary have you tried to post in the PCM/Tunning DIscussion threads on clubgp
http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/tt.asp?appid=10
You may get more more answers there.
Good luck! _________________ '08 TrailBlazer SS Black/Black |

98 GS with alky running real slow at the track. Interesting thread. |
Sounds a lot like Gary's problem.

Well, I read the entire thread, and the problem is that there is really no answer to his issue either.
Here is a summary of the issues I have:
AFR says 12.0 - 12.1 at WOT
O2's say 950 - 970 at WOT
Timing is very low, like 13 at best
IPW's are at 17.0 - 17.5 so there is still room
I read a lot at club gp, just don't post over there. I have read nearly every forum I can find, and still do not have any sense of a fix in the future. At this point it is all trial and error until I stumble onto the problem. 13* of timing sucks ass, but if I add ANY more at all I get ridiculous amounts of KR. |

And against popular belief nothing points to the alky. |

Umm if you're getting the AFR numbers from the PCM and not from a wideband then you should know thats the requested AFR, NOT the actual AFR. |

Thats not weird at all. It just means he's running incredibly rich, so the PCM is pulling fuel. He needs to adjust his MAF tables and some other things. I don't have my laptop sitting in front of me, so I can't give him the exact table names he needs to look at.
I've said it before I'll say it again. Please read the HP Tuners forums. There's a TON of useful info there. Yes I know the 3800 section is pretty much empty, but on the whole the info in the V8 section still applies. You'll just want to err on the safe side and add some extra fuel if you've got an L67. |

Eggads! I found the problem!! It was in the map table from the stock bin I "modified" (or forgot to modify) I got the car running really well now with LTFT @ 0 , 16 - 17* of timing, low KR (it was 90* here today) and everything looking good in the O2's and the AFR...
Pays to RTFM sometimes I guess, and ask a million annoying as hell questions. |
