Awhile ago scotty mac and i were tossing ideas around about havin a BBQ here in syracuse.

I called a place close to syacuse called Green Lakes. Theres 3 spots we could use to host this party.

1st spot is called Tullip Hill. Its $30 on a weekday and $60 on the weekend. It holds 20-25 people.

2nd Spot is called The Reserve. Its pretty huge, can hold tons of people. Edmunds might remember this place because its where the O'brien and Gear Company hold there family picnics. This one is $60 a weekday and $110 a weekend day.

3rd spot is just down by the water under some tree's with picnic tables. More of the rustic/camping atmosphere. Thats free. its 1st come 1st serve.

if this is something people are interested in im sure scott and i can go and take pics of the 2 areas. i know the 2nd spot has a baseball diamond, volleyball area and an open field. The free spot had a pretty big parking lot and its 2 mins from the water and sand.

what do u guys think? if we get a pavilion, i gotta call and reserve it, if not then the free area will be FCFS.

whatcha guys think?

theres a few other places around that we can rent pavilions from if people dont want to travel to green lakes.

So is this the start of the planning for the official summer picnic? Let's get Scott P in here to talk about what's available from GP Store. 'Cuz it's the end of June and before you know it the summer will be heading to an end

It would be cool if it is in Syracuse cause then I could make it to the picnic and finally meet some people. Is it just a picnic or is it were if someone needs help on something with the car someone could help?

guzzo- if u guys wanna have it be the official summer picnic, that works for me, i can help set up any of the planning if needed.

as far as any modding. im not sure, it will be a public parking lot so im not too sure if they would be down with cam installs and what not. but then again, who knows, the parking lot is big enough to where we can take up one whole side and have it to ourselves.

scott P, get ahold of me if u need any info on this place. im sure mike g and scotty mac can chime in on this topic as well..

Someone establish a date or put up a poll. We'll lose some Buffalo peeps, but I don't blame them. We don't have a lot of events in the 'Cuse.

Green lakes would be about 2-2 1/2 hours drive from Exit 49 depending on how fast you guys drive. Tooke me 2.25hours to go from Exit49 to my office, and my office is prolly 10-15 minutes from Green lakes. And that was only averaging 75-80 in a 7500lb Work van. Razz

Have someone set the date so we can get the reservation sooner rather than later. They may be booked up already. Or, call and see what dates are available and then we choose from them.

when i called she said they had some spots open, and to call back when we had a date and a back-up date.

we need a poll for which location and date. if theres gonna be a ton of people i say the reserved picnic area. its huge and has everything we need.

I think it is a great idea as well. Onieda lake is a nice place too. I know one of the guys who works there and we could probably get a discount. I think you need to pay to get into green lakes with each car, could become expensive..... Again not sure about onieda lake. I shall talk with my friend. Also onieda lake has horse shoes, baseball, and volleyball. Just an idea. It is across the road from the beach. We could even have the picnic on the beach, hey there will be girls. but you have to pay to park there.......

No, I understand no mods like a cam install or something like that, all it is is my AFC. If someone could bring a tuner is all I'm asking. I have had the AFC for a couple weeks now and it just sits in my cabnet in the garage. Its to much of a hasle to do it at wotk with a TechII thats why I asked if something like that would be ok.

So, do new, lurking, Lumina-driving, GP GT owning members get invited to this type of event?
