Hello everyone,
Thanks to the members who helped me register.
I am new to the internet, still learning to navigate through cyberspace.
My name is Sal Cerrone
I have a 2004 GTP, Comp G, HUD, Tap Shift, loaded, with 16,800 miles, no winters (heated garage)
I also have the following cars:
1971 Olds 98 2 Dr. H.T.
1993 Buick Roadmaster Wagon
2008 Chevy Impala
I am 60 years old, recently retired Teamster Truck Driver (over 29 years).
I also belong to the local and national Oldsmobile and Pontiac Clubs.
I learned about this club at the GM 100th Anniversary Show (my GTP was one of the hundred chosen). I am sorry I do not recall the name of the person who informed me about this Club.
I am involved with Car Shows hosted by the WNY OLDS Club, for those members who have children, the Fantasy Island Show is great for the family.
I understand that some members race their Grand Prix's, I have not raced since the middle 1960's.
I look forward to meeting the members and their cars in the future.
Thanks for inviting me to your Club.
Sal

Hi Sal, welcome to the club. Glad you finally could get in here.
Can't wait to see the '71. I've always been an Olds fan at heart. (don't tell my GTP) _________________ 1998 Silvermist GTP Coupe

Hello Mguzzo,
I am still restoring my 71 Olds 98, waiting for family member to paint it.
Most people do not realize that it is harder to restore to OEM than to modify.
I just got my 1971 Delco replica battery today ($255). I have been lucky so far that I became friends with someone who has a stockpile of 70's Olds parts
If your heart is with Oldsmobile, you might consider joining the WNY Olds Club, and since you have a Pontiac, join the Pontiac Club.
Nice people, nice cars, pretty good car shows.
Any questions: email salolds@rocketmail.com

Take care,
Sal Cerrone |

I'm a firm believer in "restification". My vision is a late 80's G body with turbo Series II or III 3800. Like a GN. |

That is funny. I have been thinking about a 78-80 Malibu with a Series 2 |

Hello everyone,
Micheal G.....I would agree that going OEM is preferable, so as to maintain the history of a car. My particular situation is that apparntly there are less then 10 1971 Olds 98 2 Dr. H.T.'s in the U.S.
I have seen only 3, mine, 1 on Grand Island and my Olds friend in Cleveland Oh. area, and he informs that he knows of only 4 more.
Apparantly I have a rare car, unfortantly that does not make it valuable.
Later,
Sal Cerrone |
