I have chosen to finally get the cam in July 29th, after work I am planning on pulling the motor, and possibly doing some work on the motor, and finishing the next day, and giving myself Friday as well, for any screw ups. I have talked to Joe about this a bit, if anyone can make it and give me some help on this, it would will be greatly appreciated! Thanks. I'll post more info later, I am on my lunch break now. _________________ 1998 Monte Carlo Z34 - 12.94@107.71 Street tires (Retired)

Doing this in your driveway/garage?
I could probably stop by Wed or Thurs evening.
Do you have everything you need? _________________ 2018 Acadia

Pay it forward, Brian
If I never put a cam in another 3800 it'll be too soon.
On the bright side, if you have the tools, pulling the motor is the way to go. I can get an engine out of a W body in 3 hours flat by myself and I'm not 100% sure I'm proud of that. _________________ Hi, I'm Matt. It will be in my buddies garage most likely, which is about 3-5 minutes from my house, depending on my mood. The only thing I think I could need would be an engine stand, which I believe my buddy has. Actually, does anyone have a valve spring compressor that you can use, with the heads on?
Give me a call or let me know, if you can make it out either of those days, as said earlier, any help would/will be greatly appreciated. |

I dont have much experience with swapping cams, but i'll stop by and help out with as much as i can.
I'd like to familiarize myself with pulling the motor and seeing more of it. |

This is what it should look like, though

Here's a nicer vid we took doing an in-car swap in Michigan (Allowencer pulling the anal beads out)...

Okay so I have the go ahead form my buddy that we can do it at his house. It is on the left side of the road, on Salt, about 3 houses after Delaware, when you are coming from main street. Not sure on the house number, I am sure I will get that sometime soon. I am planning on starting this about 5 O'clock (PM for all you crazies that think I'd start that in the morning) on July 29th. Hopefully everything will be finished by the 30th, and let all the RTV set over night, for the startup on the 31st. I should be then going up to Canada to get tuned at Overkill. |
