Honestly, he really doesnt know where to price this stuff since he is not familiar with the car at all, so I'm kinda setting prices for him since I have been around them a little bit.

Now since pricing stock cat backs can be difficult based on age and condition, I guess I'll say $200 obo for the catback. I see you have your GMPP for sale for $300, so I would assume this is a fair price. Let me know, I'll run it by him, and see if we can make a deal Smile

The engine, well, what's it worth to ya? I know the top swap alone is probably good for $2-300. So lets start off of that.

Seriously $200 for a stock catback Shocked ? I know they usually go for $100 or so, so I'll offer that. IF not i'll drive to morads and grab one for $100 I wouldn't mind the drive. The GMPP set up is like $500 new so my $300 is a good deal for that. I'd offer $200 for the block if I have to pull it or $300 if he'll pull it.

Prices on both items are good, and he will pull the motor and sell for $300. I'm sure he can pull the exhaust too, hopefully it wont be that hard with the car on the trailer. He's lanky so I'm sure he can manage lol.

got any real good pics of the driver's side quarter panel? I'll give him $150 if it's in excellent shape. Also, may be interested in the filler neck with it, again depending on condition.

Here is a pic of the rear quarter. Its in excellent shape, Galen can attest to that. The filler neck looks like it was good, in fact the entire gas door and everything were in top shape. This car is cleeaaaan. Theyre cool with $150, when do ya want it? I believe he'll pull it off too, I'm trying to find out when he can do it.

I'm in no rush, but I'll be in Rochester next weekend and then thanksgiving if they want to arrange a pickup. I'd be real sweet if they can get it off, cuz I wont really have any free time.

How exactly does that come off without cutting it somewhere? I thought that was part of the unibody...i.e. it's attached to the roof.

I think iirc it goes over the doors and ends where the roof and a pillar meet. idk, if you're right than I don't want it. haha.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it needs to be cut in a few places. I thought you wanted it to patch on to your car using regular body work procedures. This definitely wouldn't be just some sort of bolt off/bolt on kinda deal. If you dont want it, I'll let him know to not bother cutting it off.

Does he want to "get rid of the parts, and make a few quick bucks in the process"... or "get full market value, and wait until willing buyers come along"?

I'm just waiting, and watching the numbers here, as I have always been working with locals who are looking for the best deals on maintenance items. For now, just not seeing much of a "hook-up" type deal going on for fellow enthusiasts. He may want to just throw it up on Craigslist to get more responses from a less-involved crowd.

Well, I guess you could say its a mix. He obviously doesnt want this thing sitting in his yard forever, but he also doesnt want to get low balled to oblivion. That's why I'm telling people to throw up some prices that they feel would be fair without screwing the seller. He's pretty flexible with pricing. If there is anything youre interested in for a certain price, lemme know. At this point, he hasnt refused a price on anything. I'm doing this as a favor for them while also trying to hook you guys up with good deals. I just dont wanna go selling a part worth 250 bucks for 100 bucks because someone feels theyre entitled to some sort of deal for what ever reason. I'm sure thats understandable.

Then again you thought a stock cat back was worth $200 Shocked Honestly the parts are worth what ever the market can get for em. Yeah on a good day you could get decent coin for some things then again sometimes you sell it for less.

All in all he did kind of "steal" the car as the original owner still owns the thing and all of us carnivors here are actually trying to buy stolen parts. So with that being said we are helping him make a quick buck on something he wants to get rid of.

Oh and on that note I only need the catback for now and if he can drop it I can pick it up this weekend.

I told you, I had no idea how much the catback was worth, I was going off of what you were selling the GMPP for, knocked $100 of that as a starting price, and asked what you would feel would be a fair price. Looking at it, I agree with $100 as a fair price. I looked around for stock catbacks, and after a few mins of searching on GPONA and ebay, wasnt able to find anything. I have never actively searched for that sort of item, so I dont know where to look or where to begin pricing. Which again is why I stress people to make an offer.

And the car is not stolen. I stated in the original post that the car was checked with the local police before being removed from the property. It was left on a lot for no less than 3 months I believe, and nobody claimed it. They wanted to get rid of it, and my friend Mike decided to take it. He fell on a fortunate situation, and hes trying to capitalize on it. But with that said, hes not asking full market value for parts, but he is trying to make a decent amount of money out of this, as we all would I'm sure Wink But on that note, he also doesnt want the thing sitting around forever and I'm sure it will be scrapped by next spring.

I'll let him know about the catback, I'm sure he can get that dropped this week no problem. I'll probably tell him to pull the top end either way to try and unload that at some point. Thanks man Smile
