Maybe we can optimize the DB.
On other forums, they limit thread sizes to 4 pages. They then start a new post and link the old one to the new one and vice versa.
We generally don't have a lot of threads that get over 4 pages (present thread excluded ). Maybe we should start limiting them to 3 pages or something and then start a new one.
Are excessive images and large signatures a problem right now?
Just some brain-storming thoughts. Anyone else?

I can't believe it has anything to do with size. I'm on much, much bigger forums that run significantly faster (though it may very well have more dedicated resources). My best guess is that there is a disconnect between the server and the database.
Even when the site is down, I can ping or tracert the site just fine. And, even when the site is down, something is logging my attempt to get to the database becuase when I do get on it shows my "last logged on" time as being the failed attempt.
If Dan is working with Brian I'm confident that they will figure it out. |

Fellas... thanks for your patience. I think we are close to tracking down some inefficiencies and apparently it is helping. (although I am not holding my breath that it will work).
Please stay tuned, keep coming back and continue to be patient with us as we try to make this thing stick for good this time.
