Date has been set for IDDVI guys, May 7-8th at Norwalk. TWO day event this year with car show Sat, then racing Sun! (wait til the w.i.f.e. finds out it's mother's day weekend )
I'll probably be slower than last year though becasue I do still plan on adding some bling rims in April (either the AE 185s or the Kazera's) I suppose I could bring the old torque stars with my old 225/60-16 RE950s for the front. But 17/18" street tires vs. 16" street tires won't give me more traction, perhaps less rotaional mass. Would it make a difference? Remember, I compete in the stock power adder class (no DR or slicks allowed)
So, who's going? _________________ 2000 GTP 13.5 daily driver

I'm glad they moved it back a month. I should be there. If my transmission is in my car that month. |

Nice,
I may be able to tune/practice before the big race of the year!
Cary, I run 17" chrome SSEi rims front and back with either Nitto DR's or Firehawks on them. With the DR's I don't see too much of a hit on my ET's from the 16" slicks w/16" on back, maybe .05 to .1. But compared with the 16 torque star Nitto DR I used once last year, I was able to run faster on my 17" DR's, it was easier to control my luanch. A better driver may have shown the adv. of the 16", as they do weigh 6 lbs less then the 17". So look good and lose .1 or look average and run a tad faster, if your looking for a money spot run the lighter rims and gripper tires. _________________ 2001 Silver GTP coup 11.880@116.17 Fun Driver

I should have no problems making it to this event. I won't be entering my car in the show, but I will lend services and probably product to the UNY guys that are participating. |

Splitting a room will be fine. I'm thinking that I'll be piloting the SMP Support Vehicle (Envoy) instead of my car. I've sent an email off to Chris Green and inquired into sponsorship of the car show. I figure the Envoy can hold the pop-up tent, my detailing aresenal and of course plenty of frosty beverages.
Roxanne won't be even close to fast enough to hang with the other GT's there. So, I figure i can play a support role. I'm sure tha the 300+ mile drive will require that the participating UNYCGP cars get touched up and prepped for the show. |
