I'm surprised that there aren't replies from representatives of intense.

Was there a major problem with intense and they stopped supporting their pcms? What's the back story?

The problems with Intense PCMs have to do with timing tables I beleive. I think Johhny would be able to fill us in. In an attempt to takea dvantage of a situation, DHP is offering to re-flash PCMs for a very nominal charge. They gain a larger customer base as a result. Not a bad manuever IMHO.

I didn't know it wasn't a new issue prompting dhp's response.

So, being a continuation of the previous situation, and not a new issue, I'm really surprised that no intense person has said anything on that thread.

Shocked DAMN! Must find cheap 2004 Intense PCM....

DHP is holding nails, forged by Chris Green(OH) and Big Jeff, for ZZP to hammer into Intense's coffin. Laughing Wonder when Zooomer is gonna swing. Twisted Evil

if he is smart, he won't becasue others are doing it for him and he can save face and look respectible. But, based on what I've read from him over the years, he isn't, and you'll see posts from him about all this for sure Laughing

If only dhp didn't make their bins secure...My HP Tuner will not read one...

The Intense PCM needs work, no doubt, but to their credit they have been great to me in helping me out with tuning and support after the sale...

When I bought my 01 GTP it ran 13.0's the first time I raced it. I thought I did not need my Daily driver 98 GTP to have alot of mod's and sold my DHP 1.0 I had in it. I at once knew I had made a mistake, it's very hard to go back to slow shifts and no skip shift. I drove for awhile like that and decided to get another one. Intense just anounced their PCM and it was alot cheaper so I bought a standard burn for my 98. I imeadaitly noted the car seemd faster with the IPCM then with the DHP PCM. After afew atap runs I noticed a degree or 2 more timing then my DHP but no increase in Knock. I still like this PCM for MY car, but it may actually be too agressive for a pulley, airbox lower thermastat car. I have 1:9 rockers, RT downpipe, Preston brand ported ex. manifolds, 3/33 pulley, Thrasher CAI, colder plugs and thermastat. The only thing I have not been happy with on the IPCM is it runs richer then the DHP. So I have decided to take DHP up on their offer to reburn an IPCM to DHP PCM for $25 +12 shipping. I am aware it will probably not be as fast but as an experiment to really see about the 2 PCM's the price is right, and that was why I got the IPCM in the first place.

ZZP doesn't need to post about the intense PCMs. Especially not the 04's. Member's are already doing that.
Our retaliation is by fixing blown engines and converting people to ZZP. We just finished Randy Howe's 04. He had 1.9 rocker, emmense PCM, exhaust, 3.4 press on and 3 blown pistons. We just did a 15k XPZ build that netted him 362WHP on stock mufflers and 2.5" exhaust. With some tuning and larger exhaust he should be close to 400WHP.

Here's a vid of him having fun with his new ZZP setup:
