I am in need of someone who is a professional financial advisor or has some type of accounting background I would imagine. I have a bunch of student loans and I need to find out what my best option is to consolidate or not and I would like to look at some other things too. I just figured I would put it on here first see if anyone is qualified or knows someone who isn't going to overcharge me and keep my buisiness local. Thanks

Call John Cammarano, 716 639 9835. He is a professional and certified finance advisor. And he will work with you at no cost to help you evaluate where you are and set a plan for you. (He makes his money off the commissions for the people he helped at no cost years ago). Please tell him I referred him to you.

I've actually heard pretty decent things about consumer credit counseling... what's your experience?

my brother consolidated around 17 grand in student loans and some credit cards.... CCCS consolidated all of them into one lump monthly payment. he payed them ontime and had no problems with them at that point... everything "was" fine.... so it seemed...

Then he went to buy a house... and they did a credit report, and there were lots of late paymjents made by CCCS. a credit report shows it as late and by a credit counseling place...

example: so if you try to buy anything, they see that and a red flag goes up.. hmm credit counseling, must have had problems with $$$$ got some help, and now the payments are still late...

but if you take out a bank loan, consolidate yourself, and dont miss payments, and pay more than your monthly minimum... if you goto buy something you wont have that red flag against you...

I imagine you culd speak to a bank and compare rates for the student loans versus your consolidation loan. I agree with Mark. Stick with a bank, that way you are in control of your credit.

Thanks guys I don't have a credit problem so I would never think of going to a consumer credit place. Just needed some sound financial advice seeing as I make way more than I need to as of right now. Also wanted to know the pros and cons of consolidating my school loans. Thanks to Guzzo's advice I am on the right track.

Well I don't know about you but I still live at home since my parents have no problem with me staying here so I can get a solid financial footing before I move out and have to pay all my student loans. If I was on my own I would be fine but I wouldn't have all the extra $

Autum I just started a IRA it's pretty cool. Have you done your taxes yet? Theres a nice thing my tax guy set my up in, were the gov, gives you a nice dedution if your starting a IRA. But you have to fit it. it's basicaly under 25 years old, and in the income braket. I'm getting a cunk back on my fed. form doing it, when I was oweing a bit this year. I was off on my quaterly estaments. Self empolyed and a made more then I planning on. The refund is al form the IRA detution. I have have the IRA started. at this young of age,
I'm putting some savings in 6moth CD and a 1yr. offsetting them. It not that great of intrest but way better then a saving accout 1-2% intrest. LOL
I'm looking into other things too. But it's long term, with bad penity's. Gona talk to my dads money guy, but he's in rochester. But look into a IRA while your yong. The avage long term maret intrust rules, get the years on it. I donno about the student loans? I never went to collage. Nothing wrong with living at home, somtimes it's more freedom. LOL it's hella cheaper.

Autumn,

I"m glad John could help. He's a pretty cool guy, his energy level is really intense and right now he's helping his family through his wife's cancer recovery. But he's helped us out with setting up a refinance, life insurance, health proxies, etc. so he knows how to help us under 40 crowd get set up so that we can survive when the government social programs go broke in the coming years.
