Any of the Syracuse people want to drop a line to this guy if you're going to do a caravan? Are the Rochester people doing a caravan from Lowe's as usual? 9ish?

IIRC innovative has the Dyna pak setup, which is the packs that hook up to the hub. it's known as a portable dyno. Also, IIRC Dyna-paks tend to read lower than a dynojet or mustang dyno?

I have a Dyno Dynamics chassis dyno. It is a roller style dyno with variable load control. It does NOT bolt to the hubs. I simply strap the car down and run it. The rollers weigh about 60 lbs as opposed to about 2600 lbs on a Dynojet so it picks up single misfires and little hiccups extremely well, making it an excellent tool for problem diagnosis and tuning.

It is extremely accurate. I have run several cars on different days and had them read exactly the same. If a car has a solid tune it will perform reliably. Other cars which are pulling timing or have other issues will show different power levels every pull, but that's another story.

My dyno is portable, but the farthest I take it is out into the parking lot in front of my shop. Smile

On a related note, I'm not a Dynapak fan myself either. They're a pain to load/unload vehicles on, their variable load system doesn't clamp smoothly, and they use water cooling which can't handle high horsepower cars without lots of cool down time between pulls.

Ah, that's a bit more reassuring, Mike, for the bike. I really didn't want to take the back wheel off and run the chain around some sort of sprockety thing.

Strapping it down to a drum would be relatively easy. For another day.

That just means it is consistent. To judge accuracy, you need a standard reference. Wink

That is correct. I wasn't very clear. The dyno is calibrated and tested before I receive it to ensure accuracy. To put things in perspective, it is accurate enough to show correct results on go-carts. People have also shown accurate results on pocket bikes and even nitro RC cars with it. Laughing

Wow! Cool! I know where we can find a nitro RC car! Oh, Brad....

How about lawnmowers? I have this LawnBoy that claims to be 6.5 horse. I think it's only putting out 5. Can we dyno it? Laughing Laughing That could certainly make for some funny publicity pieces (i.e. pics)!
