In one of these threads somewhere I posted the results of my call to Richardson's Canal House. If I recall correctly, 40-50 per person lets us choose our menu (choice of 3 main courses) plus cocktail hour before dinner.
I've been there for events with Becca's work. No complaints at all.
Other fun places to eat in Rochester - Edwards, the Rio, any of the restaurants at the nice hotels downtown will have event staffs. (and now that I think about it, a woman i used to work with does event planning for Mario's Via Abruzzi)
If you wanted to do things less expensively, you could always do an olive garden type place.
Or, rent a room somewhere and have Dinosaur BBQ cater it.
Just some ideas.
I would also suggest, sad as it is - but our track history is not that good, have everyone pay ahead of time, and enough to cover tax and tip and a few incidentals. |

I will handle money collection and other various needs. No pay, no play. I am the events and sponsorhip guy, so it does fall under my little umbrella.
I'm going to check around at a party house I know. $40-$50 per person buys a lot. The problem is that a couple is looking at $100 for an event that spouses have no interest in. My goal is a buffet style dinner with a cash bar. People that don't drink don't have to pay for the chronics in our club. |

I know it is a xmas party and people are supposed to spend money, I know some of the colllege students who want to go do not have much money, like myself. I will be bringing my fiance. if you can keep the cost down low, I really enjoy spending time with you guys, but I do not want to have to pay an arm and a leg to go to the xmas party. Just an idea.

That is a good idea especially since it seems like everytime we have a meet we come up short on money....however lately with the monthly meets we have had no problem at all!
Scott, If you could get some details on a buffet dinner with a cash bar that would be great. And you are correct some people don't drink, or don't drink as much as some of us lushes. But making them pay for myself, or Jeff M, no offense jeff, i'm just using you cause you consume the most alcohol in the club....well maybe it's tied between you and mike, I have never seen you order a pitcher all for yourself! 
Scott, I wnat to try to have it later in January to give people more advance notice, but if it's pushed into February again I don't see a problem with that either. |

I like the idea of a restaurant etc. I'll accept any of Mike's recommendations.
As far as prepay, why not set up a paypal account to let everyone put in.
