How does the site count users? This is at the bottom of the forum age:

Most users ever online was 80 on Thu Jun 30, 2005 4:31 am

80 people were up at 5:30 am (our website clock is an hour off) browsing the forum?

The count looks like it's dropping...verrrry slowly. I'm guessing that old sessions aren't getting cleaned out as they should be.

Hehe...hopefully not. If so, then I've been skewing the numbers for a loooong time.

Yepper.... youth soccer camps ALL summer long 7am - 6pm, and then home to work the ever growing business. All that doesn't leave much time to try to get laid so sorry if I don't pop my head in here as much as I do during non-camp season.

For the record, user counts on this site are counted when an individual (from a unique IP) visits the site. This does NOT mean that they are all registered and logged in. That said, when you open a thread in another browser that does NOT count twice for the user count. So, that 80 number is legit... and I'd be willing to bet many of those are new users, visitors, etc... we've been getting a very high number of new visitors and new registrations lately. Must be the incredible web design. Very Happy Very Happy

Most of you know, if you need anything URGENT from me PM me for immediate response.

PS: redross17 is now a moderator so he can play with the big boys.

id bet that that 80 number was mostly from indexes of search engines.

its kind of a fake number, its not actual users.

next time you see an unusually high number like that...

go into the admin controls, look at all the "guest" ip's, write a few down, do some reverse lookups and they're all search engines.
