Well, I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been over at BonnevilleClub.com for quite some time now, but seeing as how there are very few members in the WNY to Upstate NY area, I figured I'd jump in on what you guys have going on.
You can take a look at my Bonneville by clicking on the link in my signature.
BTW, does anyone know how to remove the 2001 Grand Prix GTP from my profile under my avatar... Or is it possible to add Bonneville to the listing. I only see GP's & Regals... It would be fine to remove it all together...
Anyway, glad to be here and hope to be making it to some of your events sometime in the near future! _________________ Kyle-

Oh I know what you mean. I am still a big part of DodgeIntrepid.net and was around when it was founded. Don't own an Intrepid anymore, but still know A LOT of the guys over there.
Also, does anyone know how to have it automatically 'attach signature'? All of the other forums that I'm on, I have it set to put it on by itself... |

Actually, doesn't GM own 25% of Subaru? You've got GM in the bloodlines... |

Thanks to all of you for your warm welcome!

Nope, but I will tell you the back story... I bought it when I was 14 for $2100. My father and I redid the floor inside (which was rotted out) as best we could without purchasing new pre-formed sheetmetal. Lets just say that the floor isn't going anywhere, but I have to keep that repair in mind before I do the frame off restoration. Anyway, I rebuilt the motor over the course of the 2 years before I could drive. I am unsure of the cam, but the sb350 4bolt has 2.02 fuelie heads, Edelbrock Torquer 2 single plane intake & a holley 650 double pumper. It's bored .030 over and was dyno'd at 386hp at 6000rpm & 425ftlbs at 3800rpm. It had a modified th350 trans, but I lost 3rd gear in it so now it has a freebie th350. I am unsure of the rear end gear, but it goes down the road at 55mph at around 2200rpm which isn't too aweful bad. Damn thing would only get 12 mpg no matter what I was doing with it. It has ladder bars on the rear axle and, depending on the traction of the road surface, can get pretty damn close to picking the drivers side wheel off the road with slicks on the back. Never did get a 1/4 mile time on it but, because of how low the rearend gears obviously are I didn't ever bother cause I knew it would be pretty slow.
I drove the car while in high school (2 years), but couldn't afford the insurance or gas bills when I went to college. Since then, it has sat under my dad's barn awaiting the time, space, & money (in that order) to start the deconstruction. It has been under the barn for 8 years now and is not pic worthy anymore... I came to find out that the body has A LOT of glass in it which has bubbled considerably since being put in storage. Basically I am planning on doing a full frame off restoration replacing both full rear quarters, front fenders will be new as will the doors (don't know if just the skins or full door) and the inside floor will be replaced from the firewall back with new as well. The frame is nice and straight so I'll probably have it sandblasted and powdercoated. I would love to hang a C4 independent rear in it, but I'll have to cross that bridge when I get there. Other plans are for a full custom interior with a fiberglass dash and center console that would look more modern. I don't know what I'll be doing for the motor yet, but it'll either be a forced induction, fuel injected small block or a fuel injected big block (Ramjet 502 is what I had in mind). I have an extra 4bolt 350 under the barn
The picture in my sig is the only surviving picture that I have and that I had to get from the guy I bought it from. I don't even have the original paper photo of that anymore. I lost so much stuff moving around during my college days it's not even funny. If I could find my senior hs picture, I have one that I'm leaning the chevelle, but I wouldn't even know where to look for that... My junior prom picture with my girlfriend (now my wife) also has it in the background, but I don't know where that is either... LOL... |
