Good Evening, I have been told to join these boards from a few people on NYSpeed.com. I hopefully can afford a Grand Prix GTP within a year, i currently have a 94 Buick Lesabre...oooo Ahhh..yea i know, but it goes to A annd B reliably.

First of all, the picture on the top of these boards is almost exactly what i want, Black, with nice wheels, a lightly accentuarted hood and some shine in the grill. Id have to 5 spoke on the wheels though.

Secondly, i am looking more for reliable power than anything else when i come to do this, from what ive read so far, a 3.4 inch pulley, Cams, Rockers, Cat back exhuast minus the U bend, and i should be looking at some good power, add a port and polish and maybe a spray kit and ill be very happy.
Now i know the Trannys have a weak spot when pushing over 300 Hp and when the time comes, i would invest in a built tranny.

Granted, i dont own a Grand Prix YET, i am hoping to within the coming year timeframe, provided i can save a lot. I am a absolute N00b to tuning anything myself, where i have the sort of Car and Driver knowledge, custom is almost none. So since i am somewhat in the Area i will be asking a bunch of favors and help in doing this stuff, so i can learn. Walk throughs or DIY's are a big help. I have only hand tools at my disposal so im limited in that aspect.

I am hoping to learn a lot about tuning and upgrading cars in the next couple years.

I appreciate any advice as to my hopeful experiment.

Thanks in Advance

Well thankyou Very Happy .

That's actually my car on the header. The hood is stock so are the wheels. That would be the GTX trim model. A camaro SS is to the Z28 what the GTX is to the GTP.

The only exterior mods I have are the blacked out corners and the grilles. Definately two worthwhile investments in the appearance of the car. IMO they look pretty good just like they come.

As for your power concerns, well you'll learn...it's not too hard to make a decent (as they say on Spike TV) 'pavement pounder' and still maintain reliability.

Since it's winter I wouldnt expect to see many of our rides for a little while, but come sprin/summer it should be a good year (and hopefully for alot of us, a very fast year Cool )

Look around, don't be shy...and have a plate... Smile

Matt

Welcome to the club Andrew, thanks for posting. Please ask any questions, about buying the car or any mods for it. Try to meet up with us this year at the track or any outings.

Don't bother.
Y0u can grap a 3.8 L67 for under 700 and slap it in there.
