When i put my LQ4 maf on along w/ my TB, should i drive nicely for 50 miles to let the PCM relearn everything or should i start tuning right away w/ my afc? (installed w/ battery unplugged for reset, also no powertuner for LQ4 MAF tables)

Short answer, yes, let the computer learn for a little bit and then start making adjustments.

However, if you want to make some educated adjustments before hand, it might save you a reset/learn/tune cycle. By that I mean making slight adjustments blending higher MAF frequency settings into the lower frequency settings..since 0....11500Hz on your stock MAF is now scaled down to 0....{some number < 11500Hz}. So your current settings will be compressed/shifted toward 0Hz to work with the new MAF.

Oh yeah..disclaimer:
<---never used an AFC Wink
...so maybe it's easier to just run it for a while first...

i opened up a stage 1 TB fully and sealed the stock MAF hole so now it's a straight through shot. This MAF is the same Diameter as the Fully opened TB so it's a perfect combination flow wise. The stock MAF sensor only reads what flows through it which remains the same size no matter how large the TB is, therefore making it inaccurate.

the maf only reads the speed of the air as it whips by the sensor. Now yes, it's calibrated for a certain size opening..but you can open up the TB and scale the MAF (my not too much) to make it 'accurate' or you can fart around trying to scale the LQ4 MAF (which will be much more difficult) as well, and get hopefully similar results....

Either way you do it, you're not going to be close to maxing out a stock MAF...low 12 second blow thru setups is where stock maf maxes out...

Possible answers:
1) Here's my log showing me getting close to the peak of the stock MAF sensor (11500Hz).
2) It seemed like a good idea at the time.
3) Everyone else was doing it.
4) Scott Cook said I needed to.
5) I had money to burn.
6) I wanted to learn something.
7) A bag of walnuts.

DO NOT trust the stock computer to relearn properly for a different MAF. You will regret it. Tune the thing properly and you'll get better results all around.

He has an AFC 2.0--did you miss that, or are you saying it won't be sufficient? Question or did I miss something...

No, I didn't miss it. It will "work", but it's not the proper way to do things.
