FYI this is coming up fast. In fact, I'd be willing to say too fast to keep this as the date.

Anyone done any thinking on the subject of a holiday party?

ps - and not that it matters, but I would not be able to attend a holiday party on the 11th.

I would rather have a buffet type deal at a party house of some sort. It would make payment collection much easier. Big dinner parties among a large group are too much of a pain in the ass.

I think that is a great idea!

I would suggest everyone bring a dish to pass, it should work out well.

Scratches head....you been huffing crazy glue again? or is your exhaust leaking in the POS and causing a lack of oxygen to your brain? Scot is talking about renting a hall or a baquet room and having the place supply buffet food.....how does that have anything to do with bringing a dish to pass?
And obviously you haven't been to any summer picnics...every year we say people should bring a dish to pass or supply money to the chef for buying all the food...it always ends up scott losing money and everyone bringing beer instead of food.

I would have to agree this date is gonna be a bust since it's now less than a month away and no plans are in the work as of yet.

I agree with scott that if we are gonna do this, we need to find a place that will accomidate all of us, and have a buffet so that everyone pays the same price, and we don't run into the same problems as....oh the last 4 years? Rolling Eyes

well if said server is smart they will deal with it. getting a 5-10tip from every single/couple will work out much better in there favor.

all we have to do is ask if they say no oh well but i know i will never pay as a large group again with the club.

you guys get all worked up over this it really is no big deal.

Before we engage in other conversations, the date on the calendar is the 11th.

Do we want to keep it that date, or do we want to push things back a week or two?

I think we need to settle this first, just to find out who is available and who should be engaged in any further discussion.

If we keep it on the 11th, I will not be available.
