Use as a core to send out for a rebuild or do the build your self. Was in my 98 and started to slip at 130k or so, and I swaped it out. No hard failure, I was still driving the car. There is NO differential in it and the side cover has a crack in it, so you need to use yours.
First $50

the side cover has a crack in it? so your saying you couldn't take this tranny, buy a diff, build it up, and then just swap it in Doug? you will need a major part off the stock tranny?

I need to do a tranny build soon methinks

Yes Cary,
It would need to have a full rebuild. It can be rebuilt with the cracked cover, it is just bolted on the driver side. you can actually take it off with the tranny in the car. I would use the cracked cover to keep crap from getting in the rebuilt tranny untill it's installed. When you pull your old tranny out, you would swap covers, about 10-15 minutes. You would also swap your differential at that time, another 10-15 minutes. Or you can put in an after market diff.
The cover was on another tranny that was dropped, I let that person swap his cracked cover for my good one. The cracked one works great untill you put fluid in it and start it up Surprised
