This is my first post on your club so please be gentle.
I am in charge of organizing a group of Grand Prix members to attend the GM Show & Shine and engine plant tour at the GM plant in St. Catharines Ontario Canada. My local G/P club (OQCGP) has attended the last 3 years and we walked away with 2 trophys last year. Here are the details regarding the event.
"The date for the GM Powertrain Show & Shine Event is Friday August 10th., 2007. Last year we had 350 vehicles registered. The S & S is open to all GM powered vehicles and those registering a vehicle are given two tickets for a Plant Tour. There is also a special limited tour of the Dyno Lab. We have vendors and a BBQ available and proceeds are given to charity. There is no charge for registration and it is a one day event, rain or shine. Please mark this date on your calendar. Registration is done through me and I need name, address, phone and postal code as well as year make and model of vehicle that is being registered! There will be a club participation award. We build Corvette and other great Engines!!
Spend the weekend here in the Niagara Peninsula and get a taste of wine country and if you wish, a little bit of the Casino Niagara."
We all meet at a parking lot a few minutes from the plant and drive in together, the whole show stops to see 25-30 Grand Prixs arriving at the same time.
Like I stated above this is absolutly free unless you buy something at the BBQ and all registered owners get a goodybag and dash plaque. If anyone is interested in signing up here is the info I need to forward onto the GM execs.
Name
Address
Phone number
Postal code
Year
Make
Model
Please cut and paste the list and PM it to me, I'll reply so you know I recieved it.
The cuttoff for pre-registration will be Friday August 3rd. After that people will have to register at the show, but may not get a goody bag if they run out.
NOTE: For the Plant Tour, adequate footwear must be worn - full leather shoes with a heel no higher than 1" and NO open toes or heels. (No Running shoes or sandles will be allowed in the Plant.) Safety glasses and hearing protection will be provided.
BTW, the plant is located about 30 minutes from the Peace bridge and about 15 minutes from the Queenston-Lewiston bridge and you don't need a passport to get into Canada. If you have any questions ask away. |

I would love to attend, I'm sure my wolverine steel toe would be sufficient footwear, the only other things I have are sneakers _________________ Best Formula N-A 12.1 @ 110 (pre-engine swap) |

Actually I think they have to say work shoes are required but I have always worn my running shoes with no problem. |
