I see that if you order a PCM from ZZP you can have the EVAP code deleted when purchasing the PCM. What is the purpose and why would you delete the EVAP code? _________________ 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP

Just for fun..............
LOL....seriously, some people remove the EVAP because its a pain to diagnose when you get a code, it costs a lot to have a shop troubleshoot and repair it, its easy to remove, it cuts a few pounds off the car, it throws a tune off sometimes, and you fail your inspection with those codes (depending on the state)...like good ol NY.
If the codes PCM has the EVAP codes not reporting, it wont turn your SES light on or trip a code within the PCM,. _________________ ZZP stuff...

Primary reason: engine bay clean-up... other reasons: fuel trims like to go negative while it's activated after a fill-up, and some folks seem to not wanna wait 5min to start their tuning... The weight thing is JohnC's reason.

These are almost all the EVAP codes. I cant remember off hand all the ones to shut off except P0440, and P0452..
• P0440 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System
• P0441 - Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow
• P0442 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected
• P0443 - EVAP Purge Solenoid Valve 1 Control Circuit
• P0444 - Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Open
• P0445 - Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted
• P0446 - EVAP Vent Solenoid Valve Control System
• P0447 - Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Open
• P0448 - Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Shorted
• P0449 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Control Circuit
• P0450 - Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Circuit
• P0451 - Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Range/Performance
• P0452 - Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
• P0453 - Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Circuit High Voltage
• P0454 - Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Intermittent
• P0455 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Leak Detected
• P0460 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit
• P0461 - Fuel Level Sensor Performance
• P0462 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
• P0463 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Voltage
• P0464 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Intermittent
• P0465 - Purge Flow Sensor Circuit Malfunction
• P0466 - Purge Flow Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
• P0467 - Purge Flow Sensor Circuit Low Input
• P0468 - Purge Flow Sensor Circuit High Input
• P0469 - Purge Flow Sensor Circuit Intermittent
You dont have to shut off half of these, probably like 4 or 5 total. I cant remember too well since, they'd show up, I'd just change the PCM to not report them. |

I've passed inspection by turning off these for EVAP:
- 0440
- 0442
- 0446
- 1441
- 1646
- 1665
- 1676
The rest are either off originally (3 - no reporting), or aren't listed (in my '98 ).
Johnny, that's weight... see now you know where that last 0.3-0.4 mph was left for you to hit 120mph traps at IDD in '06.

That's right, so let me know when you need a cameraman for the next round of PB's.
