We're now getting the evening laid out, to give everyone enough time to plan on attending. Great opportunity to see some less-familiar UNYCGP faces, and even bring some new 3800 folks along to show them the good-hearted fun this club is about (well, around the table in the off-season at least). Laughing

Location is the Syracuse Quaker Steak & Lube, the popular car-themed restaurant.
Date is set to be January 16th, 2010 @ 5pm

That location gives a chance to involve karting as well, if interest exists (not mandatory to ride if you come after dinner). Canastota Kart is where we can end the evening. Attendees to the dinner can decide if this visit will be part of the festivities.

POST YOUR THOUGHTS/IDEAS & STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES. This message will become more detailed as we confirm plans leading up to the Dinner.

Collect money first.

The organizer usually get's screwed for money - or whoever ends up with the bill last at the meal.

Noted. We should all expect about $20-30/ea for a full meal & drinks (same as any chain restaurant, like Applebee's, Outback, etc.), so just be prepared with cash in-hand, preferably.

Everyone can check QS&L's online menu for pricing, to approximate how much they'd be willing to spend. Since I'll probably be driving the fastest car there (it's mid-late December, so John's/Sam's/Matt's are most likely parked by then), you won't be able to get away Laughing ... just don't order food/drinks beyond your bankroll that day. There's everything from a $1.99 baked potatoe, to a $17.99 full rack of ribs, along with the various drink options. We're not going to hold your hand for those over 21 (I'm sure they'll I.D.), so know your limit if you're driving.

Should be a good atmosphere, and the activity online lately is showing that folks are plenty eager to attend another get together. Many of the guys around me have been driving the hour to Syracuse regularly for the past 2 months, just to stand around and shoot the breeze with the random crowd lingering at Dunkin on weekends.

Might have to test that one out... My winter tires are pretty grippy...

Idea

On the other hand, I would make the drive but I work every weekend, so that won't work out- if we get a big turnout I might have to take off work though.

We had a lot of fun at that kart place many years ago. I might have the pictures around somewhere. They might be on the media page come to think of it.

Pick a date and go with it....If you leave it up to group rule, it'll be tricky. I'd say split the difference and run with it. I'll attend dependant on availability.

Quaker Steak, while it sucks donkey balls, is very close to my house. within minutes. Could probably get Scotty Mac out as well.

As long as it is not the 12th I could possibly be convinced to go.
