Not a member of any of the local cruisin' type clubs. Just recently got myself a GP. Nuthin' fancy.

Wondering if anyone on this forum drops in on the Saturday night cruise in the Barnes & Noble parking lot at Town Square Mall in Vestal? I happened to be there on a Saturday evening and checked it out. It was late in the season but I will be making an effort to drop in more often. Saw some people I knew from a small cruise night in Owego, NY that was held every Weds evening at the P&C plaza.

Anyway... let me know if you are aware of the Saturday evening cruise I speak of and if any of you are planning on going and when. Of course it is winter now, but you know what I mean.

Maybe some of the 315 guys/gals might wanna check it out some weekend. Let me know.

wow, they still do that?!?!

I used to go there 7-8 years ago and it was dieing quick. Cops at every corner, stores/restaurants complaining about us being in their lots, dumb asses starting trouble, guns and knifes getting pulled on people.

But if things like this are still happening, I'd be up for pretty much anything. As long as its not a week night. Very Happy

Don't expect a huge F&F scene, since our cities aren't too huge... but my personal view on car meets is "something > nothing", usually.

HA! That didn't sound like how I originally meant it. Those are reasons why I left and the whole scene kinda died. But its good to hear folks still meet. I may try to make a appearance sometime.

I ask about the 607 area code and it turns into a discussion about Syracuse. And cow tipping.

I should've known better.

I guess you'll know where to find me this summer.

You're all invited.

Dezl, let me know when you will be heading to Skyline Drags for the round and round she goes.

Peace out.

Season opens on the 1/2mi oval May 1st ( http://shangrila-2.com/ )... If I haven't left for Texas by then, I'll be there with our team. They're running both cars full-time, now that a friend who's been a long-time dirt driver is jumping into our back-up car with his own engine re-built to asphalt specs.

I've never gone to the vestal or owego one, but I might check them out when it gets nicer out. If I have the Blazer drivable, I'll probably take that.

I'm not sure the Owego one is gonna be happening. It kinda died down in the last two years. Some Wednesdays it would be just two cars or so. Not that it was ever that big. Just some locals. Mostly old cars and roadsters.

Some of the cars that used to come to Owego I saw at the Vestal one.

That is worth the effort. Some vettes, a few italian cars, some imports, but mostly American muscle. I think it might be a core group from the old Home Depot Saturday Night Cruise. I never went to that one but I heard there was trouble betwixt the ball-cap groups. Street racing and shit. Dunno if it was all true. Rumors.

There is a place on 434 called Wheels that has a Wednesday night Bike Night with live entertainment. I think they may also have a car night once and a while. I'll post that kind stuff in this thread.

It's late March and the first bikes of Spring are on the road here in the 607. Also been seeing lots of "summer wheels" on cars that have been running steelies all winter. Ahhh..the first bling of spring.

Last couple of Saturdays have been "decent" and I expect to start seeing the gatherings around. I'll definitely keep an eye out for the Vestal grouping.

Anyone else know of any in the 607? We have a Sonic now in Bingoville on Upper Front (Nimmonsburg) wonder if that attracts anything?
