My 2000 Buick Regal is having problems with the wipers, mostly on intermittent setting. They sometimes stop or slow down in a jerky motion, and then start working normally. Also at times they park on the windsheild istead of in the correct posistion. So far startin them on low speed and then shutting them off has been enough to fix it. What do I need to change to fix this before it gets worse? Is the controll board for the wiper motor seperate?

Wasn't this an old problem on Grand Prix's? It sounds pretty familiar.

The old problem was water related, esp in cold wheather. I think it was more or less fixed in 99 with a rubber splash sheild. I had it happen to my 98 and fixed it by swapping out the whole mechanism with a 2001 unit.
This problem is similar but not the same, but the fix may be the same. Replace the control board on the WW motor.

It's more then likely a faulty park mechanism, very common on the regals.

That's why Regal owners get the bigger handicapped parking spots. Very Happy

I changed the motor/control board with a Cardon unit, about $80, seems to work good so far.
