I know someone that is looking for an R6.
Were they fuel injected in 01?
And who are you? (CK1 just doesn't help me out there). |

01 is not fuel injected, didn't start that til redesign in 2003. My name is chris krupper, i'm fairly new to the GP scene. So far I have met Larmo and Sean H. I also bought cary citros DP.
Hope that helps

It does. I like to know who I'm talking to.
The guy I know won't be interested in the bike if it's got carbs.
The frame on an R6 is too small for me. I'm looking at the liter - 1200s for myself. |

New R6s have a 15,000 redline... sounds like fun, eh Scott? |

Yeah, I'm looking to get a newer bike. I think I'd rather have a smaller sport bike like a 600 or 750 instead of my 900. I hope I'll fit on a 600 or 750.
If I can sell my RF900R for $2k, I'll spend another $2k or so on a newer bike. We'll see though.
So many plans, so little money!

Ain't that the truth!

Not me. Not comfortably, at least. I'd like to be able to ride for more than 15 minutes at a time.
The shocker was when I tried the Buell 900. Damn is that thing small. Couldn't contort my foot to hit the rear brake. I'd still like to try their new 12 (xb12r - or something like that). |

The 900 is plenty fast for me. I'd just like something that is a little newer, a little nicer, handles a little better, oh and has 2nd gear.

LMFAO!! Yeah, having second is nice (and third, fourth, fifth, and sixth...)
If you test ride some 600s, you'll be amazed at how fast some of them are! |

That's what I figured. The sportier 600's and 750's should be plenty powerful for me, but should keep the price down compared to a 1000+ (am I right in this assumption?). Again, I just need to make sure they are big enough for me.
Any suggestions?

Plenty powerful, yes. Cheaper? Not necessarily.
I think the R6 is around 8500. You pay lots of money for the plastic and the fancy technology (blah blah coated pistons, forged yadda yaddas, radial brakes....). You can get a suzuki bandit 1200s (partial fairing, air/oil cooled 1200cc engine) for about 500 less.
You have to decide what you want to spend, and what type of riding you are going to do.
I didn't really price the 600s because I knew the frames were to small for me. Only reason I know the price of the R6 is a kid at work has now bought 2 (totaled first one - along with the pickup truck it was in - on the way back to roch from ohio).
Shop around, have fun, and if you can find an '03 or '02 leftover, you'll save some bucks on a new and warranteed bike! |

Not looking to buy new. I only want to spend around $4-5k.
I'm looking for something that I can drive around the twisties at 60mph (in a 40mph zone) for about 2 hours. I don't need something that can do 220mph in 6 seconds flat. Basically looking for some handling with some pep and comfortable for long stints of back road riding.
