PFYC.com has a DHP for $215 and free shipping, and I think I'm gonna get it. It sounds so good to get and all the stuff it does and at the price might as well. It seems it will be easy to install like what 10min. I know I need to get the CASE learn done, some dealerships will do it for free or a small fee. |

I had the dhp 1.0 in my 98 GTP and now have the intense PCM in it, both are great but I think my car is faster with the Intense one, and it is cheaper. _________________ 2001 Silver GTP coup 11.880@116.17 Fun Driver

I just looked at the Intense PCM and wondering what stage should I get. I'm guessing the standard PCM is the one I need. |

yes you want standard.. If you dont mind waiting a little bit, a DHP can be had on the nat forums for 150-175 bones.. _________________

DON'T BUY INTENSE PCMs!!!!!!!! Unless of course you want to always run 19+ degrees of timing.....which no matter what anyone says isn't good for your car. And the skip shifts aren't as aggresive as the DHP(I could go either way on this since skip shifts prolly aren't the best thing for your tranny, but at the same time a slow or low pressure skip shift is actually causing more problems since it's actually causing the tranny to slip which will wear out the clutches)
For more opinions on this talk to johnny he knows alot more than I do on the Intense/DHP PCM debate.
P.S. For anyone who isn't a UNYCGP member who feels the need to comment on this issue or critizie me for slander, feel free to e-mail me PRIVATELY and i'll be glad to discuss my negative opinion of the PCM. But any Negative comments on this thread and you will be removed from this board and banned indefinately. |

So is getting a new PCM really worth it or not. The one Im looking at seems good but if isnt worth it or something I'd rather not get it. |

The PCM is recommended by most since you get many features. With my first PCM, I thought it was worth it just for the improvements in shifting. Then there are KR related features (faster recovery), power, no speed limiters, shift points, etc. |

Get a used DHP v.1 Even if you bought it "new" it's still used parts, it's 100% the same. nothing to wear. |

Kenny,
I have a DHP v1.0. I think it a great PCM. The fuel management is right on, and the shifting is much improved above stock. I got mine used off the nat board, and like John said a "used" PCM does wear out anyway. Go for it and enjoy now. _________________ 1998 Silvermist GTP Coupe

Scott,
I didn't know John had experience with a DHP and a Intense PCM in the SAME car with the same mods. Or owned a Intense PCM at all. But he has had some really bad service from DHP, I seem to remeamber him waiting and waiting for them to ship his PCM back to him.
My 98 GTP is fine with the Intense standard burn and feels faster then it did with the DHP 1.0. I have had both brands of PCM's in the 98 GTP, and own one of each brand for my 01 GTP.
I thought you had a DHP PCM, is that what you are refering to? If so that was for a GT , not a GTP which is what he is asking about. And didn't you have problems with it?
