Referral System?

Just kinda thinkin out loud here..... but in a constant effort of increasing our membership and the use of this website, I had an idea the other night about rewarding registered users for referring additional members here.

I could be as simple or as complicated as you guys would need, but again.... just thinking out loud here. Maybe we add a line to the author panel in threads that shows the number of referrals that each member has. I dunno... just a thought.

I've seen this used on other car related sites and it seems to serve its purpose of bringing more traffic to the website.

So we'd have a Referral counter under our avatar that would reset every year; The counter would be incremented via a referral field in the new user signup page; Then each year the winner would get a small gift cert for pfyc or something?

yea but some of us might feel like we have to make people join the club, so that we dont get looked down upon..

just my $.02, i just drop the url to people i know on clubgp that live in the area.
