Well, it looks lik I won't be making it. I need to go to binghamton to pick some stuff up at my parents and my roommate is heading down there for a wedding, so in an effort to save money and gas, I'm getting a ride so i will be unable to stop. |

Yep. Good Times! Thanks to everyone who showed, brought food, toys, etc!
In attendance were:
Brian, Alex, Pat, Jason, Scott M, Larry+Stephanie, Dave, Johnny, Ed, Jamie.
After the park we (Scott, John, Ed, me) hung out at Scott's new pad and watched a bad movie (but finally started drinking so that helped). We then went to Smokey Bones and tried to interest the waitress in flapjacks. After that we went to Coleman's for a few more beers where Mike G. met up with us. Drove around a bit after that looking at some ricer hangouts. Saw a very creatively parked Alero (no camera, dammit). The cops weren't as amused.
On a sadder note, good luck with your motor, Dave.
Shout if you need a hand.

The picnic was a good time. I kept the mini-bike buckled up in the car at the park, for obvious reasons, but I took it out at home and rode the snot out of it around town (yelled at by cop for jumping off curbs and zipping around traffic). I'll link the vid we took Sunday, of me launching it off a 3' drop from a cement pad into my buddy's yard.
As far as my engine goes, I believe that bottom end has seen it's last 1/4 mile run (R.I.P. after April 24th '05 p.b. of 13.753 before new X-P cam put the nail in the coffin this month). I'll keep you updated on what steps happen this summer/fall to get it ready fro next year. With the already-planned tranny work this winter, and a fresh low-mile engine getting the X-P setup, high-12's shouldn't be a problem.
It was good seeing/meeting everyone. Oh, and always fun to help a guy change a tail-light at NAPA while we check my MAF sensor.

Hey...
It was great hanging out with everyone on Saturday. Thanks to Brian for organizing this event and to everyone who could make it.
Special thanks to Dave for the DHP 1.5 code. Wow! Good luck with the rebuild and don't sweat the setback, man. It's part of the modding game. Now you have an excuse to build the piss out of a new motor.
Take it easy,
-Alex |
