What year are you looking for? depending on what you want to do with it, some years are better than other. I currently have a 93 SSEi, 93 SSE SC, and might be getting another 93 SSEi (just waiting on some more details.)
If you want the series 2 L67, I suggest a 97-99 cause they have the best aftermarket or a 00+. The 96 had the Series 2, but the 4T60E-HD tranny and you'd have to get a custom PCM for it. 92-95 had the Series 1 engine with the 4T60E-HD tranny, with only 93 having a chip offered for it. 94-95 got a modified SC and TB taking the HP from 205hp of the 92-93 to 225hp for the 94-95. 94-95 also had a hybrid OBD1/OBD2 PCM, so a custom chip would also be needed for that as well.
I also suggest checking out www.bonnevilleclub.com as they will have a lot of info for you. A price range will also help as I hear about bonneville for sale from a lot of the other guys there. I can also be of assistence if you need some questions answered.
There is a Bonneville Club meeting in Enfield, CT october 21-23 incase you are interested. I'm heading out there with a couple other members from the area. |

All SSEi's had the SC, but they were different. 92-95 had the Series 1 L67 with the M62 supercharger, capable of 205HP in 92-93 and 225hp in 94-95. In 96 they switched to the Series 2 L67, rated at 240hp, which is the same motor as the GTP. The reason I stated you want 97+ is because of the PCM support since 96 had not moved up to the new tranny, there is no PCM available for it, but all other engine mods will work for it.
Will keep an eye out. There are a couple in the $3000-4000 range that a pretty decent on Bonneville Club. |

I think the later models (00+) are nicer looking. I like the front end styling.

If you don't mind driving, there is a guy selling a 00 SSEi for $4600. Here is the info on it. Located in KY though
caminated2k wrote: | Things have not fully gone through as of now with the first buyer. As I wish to get rid of this car I am lowering the total to $4600. All of the stats and info is the same as the car has not moved for 3+weeks now. This offer price is open to the original buyer as well. Thanks.!
Well this is a last ditch effort to get this car out to someone who would want it. I will list the car specs, then the problems and you can decide if you want it or not. If nobody wants it within a few weeks it's being traded in. A good chance to get a car wthat needs minimal work I am to lazy to do.
Specs and features:
2000 Midnight Blue Metallic SSEi
114,000 miles on the block and chasis
8,000 miles on the ZZP Transmission (brand new TC, 2.93 gears)
Tan interior
Chrome 3 spoke SSEi rims (minimal curbing)
ZZP VS camshaft
Custom PCM Programing to my likes
Modular Pully System with 3.1"
What is wrong with it and est cost to fix:
- Wheel hub speed sensor is on the fritz setting off the ABS codes. Estimated at ~$200 to fix or less with parts from ED MORAD. Have to have a tech figure out which hub is having the speed sensor issue.
- Front under bumper air dam plastic is missing, blown off at the track.( Cheap from ED or even dealer was under 50 bux)
- Lower wheel well front edge plastic splash guards missing for both sides (Cheap from ED I would think)
- UNLOCK from the switch does not work, both switches are bad as using a jumper on the wiring allows locks to UNLOCK. (Hardly anything for cost from ED)
- A few cig burns on head liner from previous owner
- Chemical leaked on back floor, floor mats will cover it otherwise the carpet looks rather bad.
- No floor mats (can buy some and toss them in though)
- Air pump in trunk doesn't work but air ride does. The plastic liner at the back part of the trunk is broken but still in place.
- Trunk is nappy and carpet should be replaced
- BOTH rear window regulaters are shot ($110 each from ED)
- Tint is scratched from dogs, rear main window is fine though, probably want to have it redone or stripped
- Couple lights are out in the stereo on the cassette buttons, didn't care, new deck will fix that
- It has been raced, front motor mount is shot with a decent amount of engine movement when hard accell occurs.
- NO keyless entry FOB's. The system is there but you will need a new remote. ($60 from the dealer)
The pain has chips and the hood paint is bubbling in a few spots *TSB exists for this even* , the Intermediate Shaft is new and does not clunk. Clear coat on the front bumper is chipping here and there, but with the bugs and rock chips it isn't really noticeable.
Well that about does it for talking down on my current car. I estimate it would take roughly $1,000 to turn this into a VERY nice car again, I just haven't had the urge. She gets 28.9mpg verified and has a perfectly working transmission which was recently built by ZZP and the heads were off to inspect the pistons, they are in great condition with no damage at all.
The car could still pull a high 13 in current form. If it isn't listed here it works.. power seats work, tilt, hud, etc.
$4,600 and it's yours. There is more than that owed but I don't care and will pay the extra off. I have the title and am ready to sign it over whenever. Good chance to get a higher end car that's still rather fast for low $$ only requiring a decent weekend of work if someone has the determination to do so.
I MAY accept lower offers but I would decide at that time. The fact that the heart of this car *power plant and transmission* are in golden condition says she can be touched up and have a long long life. I just drove it 1300 miles straight in 3 days and it never hiccuped.
Peace, someone give this car the attention it wants.

tranny and motor work alone are worth the price. Granted its alittle beat up but is sounds like a good deal and looks sharp. |
