if the old core is 1.9" and the new one is 2.25", does the new heat exchanger fit in the old core pocket?

Just curious. Question

Full size IC replacement core - $85.00

This is our latest core for the full size Stage 2 and 3 intercoolers. We have used this version for nearly a year in our full size kits. It works in ALL models of full size ZZP cores. Cooling doesn't get any better!

Features:

*
20% improved density over our old Probe core
*
26 fins per inch (much higher than any of our competitors)
*
16 fluid channels (highest in the 3800 market)
*
Improved inlet and outlet ports accept 3/4" line

I can read.

but the freaking old core was advertized as 1.9" and the new one is 2.25" or some junk like that...

In my mind i'm thinking...why would they make a case that's 350 thousandths thicker...just for fun?

Does that mean the answer is yes?

so will a new core fit in the old plates?

An answer like "yah it fits. that is kinda wierd, but I have the new core and an old case, and it works great for me" was kind of what I was looking for if that was indeed the case.

actually sean and i discussed it last night..so i know the answer...

Post up your findings.

I dont know why they made the new plates taller. Thats for ZZP to answer. From the sounds of it, the new core is just improved and has bigger inlet/outlet. Doesnt say that the overal dims are bigger anywhere. So I dont have a deffenite answer than what I have read/herd.

the answer is that you have a gen1 i/c and a new core.

I"m pretty sure the original gen 1 i/c was advertised as 1.9" thick...and there was some controversy about fittment because the new ones were taller Question

Hence my confusion
