I know that the new plates shifted the opening some and have material removed to lighten them. Maybe the plates need to be thicker for strength? I have athe new core to replace my old 5/8" in/out core but my plates also have material removed to be lighter. Maybe mine is a gen 2 instead of a stage 2. I bought it used so I dont know.

Here's the absolute answer to end the debate so we can get back to sellin my oversized injectors... Rolling Eyes

"All of our intercoolers have always been 2.25" and the cores inside the plates have always been 1.9 or so."

"So the new core (inside the plates) that u offer fits in all the 2.25" plates?"

Answer:yes and yes.

Straight from the man himself....

i guess by core thickness before they meant heater core, and by thickness now, they mean the whole damn thing.

NOW I CAN SLEEP.

do the plates have the lightning pockets machiend in?

The overall is still 2.25 like all ful sized ZZP production ones. The only made a few 2.4 2.5 thick ones. And the new Gen3 with the coposite lower halfs (Ultem) are thicker to space the core away form the motor. So it abosubs less engine heat. The gen3s are 2.3 hi.

His core have 5/8ths in'outlet tubes. And the core poket is normally placed, not under the snout more like the newer ones with the gen5 wanta bes. its still way better then a SS
