error message

I'm getting this when I post..

We've been disturbed by the large number of Regals registering here and have taken steps to drive them away. Very Happy

I think you'll find the message was still successfully posted. We occasionally get errors when posting that are often caused by an error when the forum tries to send an email. I think that's the case here. When you see smtp in the error message, it's probably mail related such as when trying to notify someone via email about a post.

I got that error once this weekend too. If they don't go away, I will check it out, but right now I don't know how to investigate it. So go forth with confidence and hope that we don't develop any new forum problems that require any IT/SQL/php/phpBB/smtp expertise. Smile

I think the problem more likely lies in the hosts email server.

Yes, the forum probably tried to make some smtp related system call and it failed. Probably nothing I can do about it, unless it keeps happening and I contact my host.
