I sorta guess it's been brought to attention that my youthful "ambition" has sparked talks of me taking over the Presidency... Well, If this is for real, I wouldn't mind. I love my car, and nothing is better than hanging out with people that love their cars just as much lol.
So anyways, If this is for real. I guess post your feelings...on the subject...Not how deeply hurt you are because the Yankees suck.
I'll add my cell phone for anyone that may want to hang out tonight. I'll most likely be in Canadaigua. No Txt's... I don't have any left on my T-mobile lol. And I'm not going to bite anyones head off for calling my Phone lol.

Then the Rochester people need to just set up more meets and such... It's lame to be ridin' dirty by yourself whooping on 92 Eclipses with rusty body's and the Body kits ziptied to the rust holes... Don't ask...I've seen one. |

The youthful ambition is most definitely welcome. But yes, I think the club President should be a little more tenured here, sorry.
A little history:
Basically, trying to get club meets that everyone from the Western, Central and Southern-tier areas will attend didn't work out too well. The usual exceptions being bi-annual mod-days, the summer picnic and year-end dinner.
Given that, the thought was to get more regional activities going--of course, anyone willing to drive from anywhere is welcome.
One idea was to actually have official regional event coordinators...which would still be welcomed. Of course, everyone is encouraged to come forward with event/meet ideas, the coordinator would just typically be the one to run with them (handle any $$/scheduling arrangements, update event threads etc).
When I took the title (for lack of a better term) had some lofty ideas that I think sounded good in type, but I couldn't (or maybe just didn't) execute. At this point, I think I'd be just as happy as anyone else seeing someone step up as club Pres. who has the time/energy/patience (and actively-driven Grand Prix and familiarity with the club and some of it's members) to revitalize the club. I'm sure whoever does take the role would welcome/encourage local assistance from the Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse/S-tier areas. I think your ambition and any ideas would be most welcomed in that sense. _________________ 2018 Acadia

There is a simple solution to making the Rochester members more active....... SET UP SOME MEETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You don't have to have a title to say hey guys let's meet up saturday and grab some lunch. Or i'm heading to the Log Cabin Wednesday night, would any like to join me. You haven't been here long enough to see that when you post up meets in advance you get 50 "I'm in" only to get down to 12 the day of the meet....just wait it's annoying! _________________ 2002 WRX Wagon - SOLD!!

I never saw the purpose in taking my car down to a cruise night. It always looked nice and we all know how good the paint looked compared to other Grand Prix's in the club. But it was still a more or less stock Grand Prix GT. What benefit is there in showing off a stock car that is only a few years old (at the time)? That is why I never entered my car into any of the Pontiac car shows that some would attend. It's just my personal standard of what I feel a show car should be.
Roxy was a slow little GT. I never felt the need or capability to go out and run with other cars on the highway. I enjoyed the track nights and made several of those.
Up until recently here in Houston, we had monthly "Mod Days" at Chris Green's house. At this point, the club here is much like the one in NY. Most of the older members have moved out of the Grand Prix and into another vehicle. In just my two and a half years down here, the Grand Prix's in the club have been replaced by a Camry, Scion, MazdaSpeed 6, G35 and at least one other. But the core group still would get together and either work on our current cars or watch (or help) the stray newbie with minor mods. Barbecue was usually involved or we went out to lunch. It was more of a monthly get together than a Mod Day.
The UNY club is the same way. Many have moved on to other cars (or states). But, they still get together for food, drink or to tinker on someone's engine. The UNY guys all say they want to get together, but when the time comes, something always comes up. You have the kids who aren't old enough to go to a bar and complain about that. You have people with families that have those obligations. You have them members that always seem to come up short fiscally when the time arrives. It ends up being the same group of guys each time. At that point, they just call each other instead of making a post. The result is the same with a lot less effort.
As was said previously, if you want to get something together, come up with an idea and a date. You might get two people or you might get twenty. You won't know until you try. |

I'm game for any meets. I actually will probably be at my mom's house in Hilton all weekend starting to put in the painless wiring kit on my firebird. Driveway space is limited but she lives in a cricle and can park a couple of cars out there if anyone wants to come by and i guess have a mod day so to speak? I will provide beer if there is interest, you are on your own for food. How's sunday at noon? _________________ 2007 Grand Prix GT CAI, 180* so far, more on the way

I'll be there all day so show up whenever. And Keith, I'll probably be there next weekend too cause I don't think I am getting that whole kit done in one weekend. I am out there most weekends tinkering with one car or the other and anyone is always welcome to join. Just let me know ahead of time who's all coming so i can get enough beer. Or just bring your own.
