SLP powerflo catback (no tips) $100 - local pickup
i'm selling my SLP powerflo catback that i bought from a member here last year. i put it on this past weekend then took it off because it is a bit too loud for me. it is in good shape, it just does not have tips. _________________ 1996 Trans AM WS6

I wish I could have heard it.
That is pretty much what I am looking for but I want to make sure it isn't too loud for me. _________________ Good Bye.

If it's any quieter than what I've got now (Vid LINK - Pic LINK... not much beyond straight 3 to 2.5 Y), which I'd assume it would be, I can plan a trip to Syracuse in the next week or so with cash. The tips would be nice, but obviously you liked them as well, so I can deal with my single 3.5" Corsa's until I care to change it.

Awesome... along with tickets and extra cop attention since I've moved back, I'm also going to like not being nervous about firing it up at night as much (I may add a res to help it some more).
I'll call dibs so I don't lose this one, and work out a time to get together in the near future. I'm guessing it's not welded together like mine, and I won't have to drive a truck out to get it. Speaking of which, are you going to the picnic next weekend? I can either get it there, or maybe stop on the way to (9am?) or from (9-10pm?) the meet.

no, it's not welded but it is crimped such that it is hard to be taken all apart... right now it is separated in to 2 sections.. the section of pipe that bolts to the cat and goes back to the Y is the first and the second is the Y connected to the mufflers... that section may be tough to get in a car but i'm 99% sure that is the way i brought it home.

no, i will not be in town that weekend.
i will PM you in the next few days so we can figure something out.. i can meet you 1/2 way in chittenango or something if that helps. |

Just searched for vids online quick & found one, and it was as quiet as I could hope to be (was a near-stock car with mani's/cat though, so hopefully the res or 2 I'll add will help me there).
John, your tips are somewhat similar to what I've already got, so someone else feel free to go for them. If I end up changing tips, I'm going towards something closer to stock (OEM from 97-03 or 04+... or SLP trapezoids if another deal comes along later). Going for a more subtle look and sound now, because 5 years of loud and proud was enough.

Dave...what kind of exhaust do you have on yer car? And are you looking to sell it when you take it off? I'm looking for a catback system....idk what the rest of yer exhaust setup is....but I have the P-Log/stock rear mani, and ZZP 3'' catted DP. _________________

It's one I made over the years, I don't plan on selling it, since it's not very appealing... started as a 2.5" system using Corsa C4 Vette 2.5" mufflers (the cases are scratched and dented on the bottom & internal welds may be cracking)... then swapped in 3" to Y with a bullet resonator. Fittiment is not nice & sound is too loud, especially with headers/no cat. I plan on re-using alot of pieces (resonator section, tips, etc.) anyway. The rest isn't worth much more than scrap.

Yeah just thought i'd ask....cause i listened to that sound clip and i think it sounded bad ass.....it'd prolly be a bit quieter if something like that was on my car since it has no headers and have a cat.
plus i dont drive my GTP daily.....so im not really woried about getting pulled over for it....cause the cops around here really dont give a crap if u got a CAT and both mufflers. |
