Can code P0171 be deleted from the PCM? I have had rgis code for some weeks now ever since I installed my new TB. I have been chasing for a leak some where and can't find it at all. The code comes and goes so I just wanted to know if it can be deleted _________________ 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP

Not recommended... that's the Lean code, meaning your pcm keeps trying to add fuel & the trims are staying +16 for xx seconds alot. Might just be a tuning issue, since you're getting more air with the bigger TB, if there's no leak causing it another way.

I've been fighting both a p0140 and 0171 since I bought the car. Although I think the 171 went away. It came back the other day after I unhooked the battery and I havent driven the car yet to see if it would come back, but the 0141 I've had since I changed the front o2 to a new Delco unit. I gotta have Larry take it out for me at some point so I can get the car inspected. I really dont feel like buying a new o2 sim if the one thats already in there is ok and Im getting the code for some other reason. I dont see how a sim could just go bad out of nowhere _________________ 2000 NBM Z28 | SLP lid | Ebay LT's w/ TSP ORY | Magnaflow catback | New Era tune | Pro 5.0 | Monster Stage2 and Tick master | BMR springs/Bilstein HD's | Spohn Adj. I would recommend you hook up with Larry ASAP before you get ticketed for no inspection. Then you can have him reflash your PCM to original after inspection and at your/his convenience. Tickets are no fun GOOD LUCK! _________________ 2001 Silver GTP coup 11.880@116.17 Fun Driver

Scanning is a big means of helping the 171-172 guys. Most 140 guys can be helped by proper code shut-off in the tuner.

Well right now the only way I'd get in trouble for no inspection is if I got pulled over. I took a picture of my wifes sticker and printed it out and taped it in my window so it looks like I have something there other than a white temp sticker from the DMV. Im hoping the sim takes care of it though, I really just want the car to be legal as can be. |

What exactly is the 0172 code? It just came on in my car after I put a DHP PCM in it. I have a scan gauge and everything seemed fine...
