Anyone ever throw this code, P0172 Fuel Trim System Rich Bank 1?
Any idea what causes this? I just installed new fuel rails over the weekend, wideband was a little wacky this morning, rich when given gas, lean for a bit when let off then evened back out to 14.7ish. IAC count high 60's to low 70's at idle. I did have a bit of a hard time getting injectors back in but I would think if I had a vac leak I would be lean.... Vac is around -18-19 at idle.... I also got gas on the way into work right before the code was thrown. _________________ '08 TrailBlazer SS Black/Black |

Im pretty sure a bad o2 sensor can throw that code, among a few others. I have a new one in my car and if you were in Roch Id say swing on by and you could borrow the sensor, clear the code, take your car for a spin, and see if it comes back. _________________ 2000 NBM Z28 | SLP lid | Ebay LT's w/ TSP ORY | Magnaflow catback | New Era tune | Pro 5.0 | Monster Stage2 and Tick master | BMR springs/Bilstein HD's | Spohn Adj. I'm thinking its a injector not seating right. Car has been acting just a tad funny since the new fuel rail install.
Did some reading and vac leaks, maf, and injector can cause the code to show up. Thanks for the offer on the O2.
Tonight I will re seat the injectors and check my vac lines since I had to change them around a bit. |

you think not having the screen on the TB could cause this problem? The TB that came with the motor I just put in my Bronze car didn't have a screen on it. I changed the o2 sensor and still got the same code. _________________

I put a new o2 sensor on it, drove it for about 50 miles, and the light came back on for the same code... I'm gonna try to put a MAF screen in the TB this weekend to see if this helps it in any way. I just need the light to stay off long enough to get it inspected, after that I DON'T CARE!!! lol. DAMN STATE EMISSION LAWS!!! |

Id like to worry about it in the spring. but theres a temp inspection on it now cause it's been off the road for a year, Just got the motor going about a month ago, and I planned on using the Bronze one as my winter car and putting the GTP SE away for the winter.. The car runs GREAT except for that god damn P0172! lol. I'll be looking for Vac leaks and scanning my MAF and trying all sorts of shit till the light stays off for more then 100 miles ...
o yeah.. What's a FPR??? |

It's connected to the fuel rail, near the supercharger. Under the hood, it's near the front left, closest to cylinder 1, near the upper left engine mount. |
