Doing a 408 swap on my Formula. Selling the engine and transmission would help that process along.
Asking 2200 for the engine, transmission (4l60), rear-end (10-bolt 3.23 posi).
117,000 miles on the car, I know the rear-end was replaced.
1500 for the engine. You'd get a long block, w/o accessories but with coils, valve covers, intake TB, injectors w/fuel rail. Have to see what else is left once I take the parts I need to complete the 408.
I'd throw the headers in for extra 250, not sure what you're putting it in.
Good luck in the hunt,

It'll be a swap into my 1980 Z28, I've been wanting to do something different with it. I could have stayed with the 383 or the 355 I have. It's a T-top model so the body flexes a bit even with the roll cage and sub frame connectors. I figured an LS1 and I could stroke that maybe or just stab a cam and do some head work and see how I like it. Although I miss the way a 383 screams when winding out. So I won't need the rear end that 10 bolt is anemic, I have a 12 bolt with 4.10 gears and a locker so it'd be kind of a step down on that department. So how much with out the rear end and just the engine and tranny? |

I have a T-rex cam too if your interested, great cam only or cam/nitrous setup. Was going to that route but the 408 spiked my intrest so it sits packed away
Wanted 280 for that (what I paid)...but trade out the rear-end and add the cam, 2200 for engine, tranny, cam
I'll let the engine/tranny go for $2000. Have an offer on the transmission for 500 local but I'd rather get rid of everything at once. |

specs as new, used for 1000 miles I think. What do you mean by borrow
USMC I'm in no rush to pull the motor either. Have to sell the grand prix before I can afford everything I want to do with the bird. |
