no, ugly is a 2" x 3" hole under the gas door, another hole in the door sill on the passenger rear door, and rockers that push up into the floor when you try to jack the car. |
Ugly is a wooden stick propping your hood up, now that is hideous! |
no the stick isnt, the hood is. OOO Snap Son Just busting ur balls |

yeah i;m looking at replacing the 98. it runs good, but the body rot is shaking rust off on every bump. my fuel and brake lines are severly corroded, creaks and rattles abound, 10 WNY winters, 145K miles and 6 seasons of racing will do that.
i went and looked at it. it's in good shape for an 02. body is solid, no rust underneath, i poked around the rockers and trunk and its pretty good. the interior is good, a little worn but nice. the pictures are worse than in person. the dark cherry and graphite leather are nice. original wheels, fairly new tires, i think maybe 12" brake upgrade on front.
engine is modded, it has valve covers swapped so oil fill is on the rear cover. it has a 3.4 pulley, looks like an ASP modular setup. stock manifolds, cross over heat shield, and looks like stock downpipe and catback in nice condition. I'd swap over my exhaust though. it started up and idled smooth, didn't drive it but no weird noises from engine or tranny.
the dash fascia is broke, no problem to replace. it has Bose stereo, I'd probably swap in a HU with EQ. and it has manual climate controls, blower doesn't work on high speed so a blower resistor swap or fuse is in order. AC is cold, seat heater works, paint is good with no dings or pits.
he's asking 7500, i asked how firm, he said we can work on it. I'll let you know if I bring it home. _________________ 1998 Silvermist GTP Coupe

Guzzo you should really get a 04+. they 900000 times better then the 97-03 junk. the 04+ interior is so much better. Get this its a W-body with cup holders that actually work. i know its amazing. even better seats, that are actually worth calling seats. |

i hear what you're saying. a lot of the 04-05 have a lot of miles on them, and the 06+ are still $10K+ which is more than I have to spend. |

take this in to consideration. my 08 was a touch over 12K out the door. thats with the 100K warranty, and my new Bumper to bumper till 76 or 78K. not bad for the price. when i picked it up it had just over 36K. but still my payments arnt that bad. I understand the fact i dont have kids, or a house yet. but still if you think about its not a bad deal |

There's something to be said for buying a car with cash these days.
I feel what you're sayin mike, but if I had to buy a car with <10k to spend I'd start looking import. That's just me.
Domestics worth the money are still pricey. |

being logical and all, it goes like this
pros- the car's in good shape, still has at least 6 years left in it. can pay cash and can work the price down some. I already know how to work on it. don't plan on any new mods, since its already mildly modded and I have other parts. I can part out the 98 and make some $ back. it's a somewhat valuable model being a 40th anniv version.
cons - it is already 7 years old. not state of the art. 75K miles and modded means that it might have some issues hidden (risk with any used car)
even import wise for the money I can / want to spend I still need to stay in the 6500 to 8000 range. i was also checking out a CTS for about 11500. But Ive heard mixed things about the 3.6.
appreciate your help spending my money, though. I knew I can count on you guys! |
